I...

I think the scheduling is a double-edged sword. In Pat's mind, he's not scheduling to reach a BCS game. He's scheduling to reach a NC game. Now, whether that is possible or not we may never know for two reasons. One, Fresno State is never likely to run the table with such a tough schedule, and two, I doubt the voters would vault an undefeated Fresno State above any 1 loss BCS team.

As far as the schedule hurting Fresno State, I wholeheartedly agree. Hill has never been able to get the depth needed to compete at the level needed throughout the season. It's like taking 3 bullets in your six shooter to a gun fight against someone who has brought all 6 bullets. You may be able to go shot for shot for a while, but eventually the other guy is going to win because he has more bullets.

But the good thing is that his brutal scheduling is finally going to pay off with getting BCS teams to the Central Valley. Colorado, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and Rutgers are all scheduled to come to Fresno in the coming years. In addition, Wisconsin came to Fresno last season. If Hill can just hold on, he may be able to put together some magic in the next couple of seasons. Only time will tell.

Interesting.
